FAQ

Sweden crypto tax questions.

Do I need to report crypto to Skatteverket?

+

Yes. Skatteverket treats crypto as “other assets” subject to capital gains tax at 30%. All disposals must be reported on the K4 form.

How is crypto taxed in Sweden?

+

Capital gains are taxed at a flat 30%. Losses are deductible at 70% against other capital income. We calculate both gains and deductible losses in your report.

What cost basis method does Sweden use?

+

Sweden uses the average cost method (genomsnittsmetoden). The cost of each crypto asset is averaged across all purchases. We calculate this automatically.

Are crypto-to-crypto swaps taxable in Sweden?

+

Yes, every swap is a disposal. The gain is calculated based on SEK value at the time.

How long does it take?

+

Most reports are completed within 10 calendar days after we receive your complete data.

What about previous tax years?

+

We handle multi-year filings. You can submit corrections (ömprövning) to Skatteverket for up to 6 previous tax years.
